The supporters of amnesty for illegal immigrants have frequently use religious arguments and terminology to make their case. They explicitly claim that legalization and increased immigration are the only morally acceptable choices facing lawmakers and that opposition to "comprehensive immigration reform" is, literally, a sin.

To address such claims, theCenter for Immigration Studies hosted a panel discussion entitled Religious Perspectives on Immigration on Tuesday, October 6.
