  • Direct generic offspring and inbreeding can lead to disability.

If the attraction is there, as uncomfortable as the thought makes me, personally. It's there. Homosexual marriage, interracial marriage is all well and good. But incestuous practice is a hindrance on our development, scientifically. After all, survival has become about development now.

  • @tgtk Interesting stance. Would you then argue that couples whose children have a good chance of developing genetic disabilities should be legally prohibited from getting married? (this would include but not be limited to those with down syndrome who love eachother).

It should be noted that incestuous relationships do not necessarily lead to offspring with genetic disabilities.

  • @c38themovie Actually, you've pointed out that my argument isn't very well thought out. I'm not sure how we're debating incest in comparison to homosexuality. I thought everyone felt incest was just, strange. I'll definitely say that it makes me uncomfortable. Homosexuality, interracial couples or any other of these issues don't. Incestuous relationships are wrong though, surely?

  • @tgtk When the marriage debate in Canada was at its peak in 2005, nobody thought that incestuous relationships or even polygamous ones would be challenged. In Europe, laws regarding incest are being reconsidered, as in the case of two siblings who grew up separately but later fell in love. The husband has been imprisoned, according to Germany's laws, and has been prohibited from visiting his children.

At the time of Trudeau most Canadians also thought that gay relationships were wrong.

  • According to them, any two people should be allowed to get married. Alright, so does that mean adults should be able to marry children? What about children marrying each other? What about incest marriage?

  • Canadians seem so civilized (for the most part); I think I live in the exact opposite of civilization, Central Florida. Maybe when I retire I'll move to Vancouver.

  • @circablonk I wrote this a while ago. Now I take the stance of separation. I mean that I don't think I have any right to tell anyone who they should be attracted to. I feel that any form of attraction is that of the beholders and the lines are too blurry to be placing laws on it all. Reproduction is not the sole purpose of attraction. The fact that people are attracted to the same sex proves this. All these laws are created and undone in the pursuit of understanding attraction.

  • @tgtk Woah, don't tell me you're an idiot too. Haha. First of all homosexual marriage and interracial marriage aren't related in any way. Secondly, we know heterosexual couples are right/natural because they can reproduce. Therefore if we best what is right and natural off of reproduction, then homosexuality is wrong. Thirdly,How can you say incest is a hindrance, but say homosexuality which can't even reproduce is not? I don't see. They both are a hindrance, one=retards and the other=less of us.

  • The people in the vid are fucking idiots. you want gay marriage because you say marriage should be a "right" to all, and then you trn around and say incest marriage is weird. What the hell did I miss? You're fighting for equality, but also denying equality to others. that's why I think gay-marriage supporters are the most parallel thinkers and can't think logical to save "humanity", no pun intended. America was best before this equality shit hit. America was the head of the world, until.......

"You'll notice this from the comments from everyone below. Just as proponents of black civil rights or women's rights in the 20th century would never have gone so far as to compare sexual orientation with race or gender"

Proponents of civil rights HAVE compare it to gay marriage, including Mildred Loving...of Loving V. Virginia? She and her husband fought conservatives like you for the right to marry. also Coretta Scott King, Joe Lewis, Rob Graetz, James Lawson, Julian Bond,

"we likewise have to recognize that people right now are challenging existing laws on polygamy, incest and legal age. Denying their rights is simply unjust, right?"

Wrong. I've already addressed your conservtive dishonesty in trying this negative compare trick. You didn't address it.

I also asked you to BE HONEST and answer if this is really about your RELIGION?

  • Just let anyone marry anyone, fuck it. If marriage exists and is to benefit the people getting married then it should be to the tastes of the people involved, too.

Some marriages may seem weirder than others but at the end of the day, if anyone is stupid enough to spend the rest of their life with only one person then they should crack the fuck on.

  • @hipstermi

The film strives to point out that we base most of our fundamental beliefs on feelings rather than fact. You'll notice this from the comments from everyone below. Just as proponents of black civil rights or women's rights in the 20th century would never have gone so far as to compare sexual orientation with race or gender, we likewise have to recognize that people right now are challenging existing laws on polygamy, incest and legal age. Denying their rights is simply unjust, right?

  • @hipstermi

The tactic used is called socratic dialogue. I'm not a conservative, neither do I believe in using religion or politics in an argument.

The indisputable fact is that not all rights enjoyed today were enjoyed 20 years ago. We once thought children were incapable of making decisions for themselves. In the 21st century, 14 year olds can procure abortions without their parents' knowledge and engage in relationships with anyone they love.
