Sorry. That's Sir Alfred to the rest of you.

HEY! I was at that street corner! And in that vehicle! Very cool stuff. I still love how you call him "Hitch."

It's been pretty darn hot here lately, but I supposed it's nothing compared to Texas. Welcome home!

I'm glad I saw this, I was about to take a pilgrimage there and now know not to waste my time!

Since I made this video, I finally did get inside the estate (a few times now, actually). It's now the home of Heart o' the Mountain Winery. They're really quite an excellent winery - look them up on Google, and watch their web site for winery events when they're open to the public and you can see the place then.

In the early 60's I was in junior high in Santa Cruz. One day in downtown Santa Cruz I saw Hitch and his two poodles at a car wash. I dragged my friend, Susie Rysdam, over to him and we got his signature which included the profile he used to talk into on his tv show. He was not happy about being recognized.

That's very cool! What a great memory to have.

I wonder if the butterflies in Natural Bridges Park at the end of West Cliff Drive in Santa Cruz served as an inspiration for "The Birds." After all, if one visits Natural Bridges Park in the Spring, he runs the risk of being bombarded by millions of butterflies.

Maybe! I hadn't heard that theory before, but Hitch certainly would have been aware of that (and freaked out by it).
