I love how idiotic... sorry, I meant poetic. fashion journalists sound when they're interviewed each season. However, I must a agree, as much as would like to diss her- I liked it.

@videocrack246 I understand what you mean. I've seen clusters of designers come out with collections over the years with almost the same exact collection only reinterpreted. And then it's passed off as a inspiration and transforms into a trend. I always wonder how 5 separate designers come up with the same "Inspiration" in the "Same" season.

Yes. I understand that. I understand were she gets her inspiration and i don't doubt Alexander was a scuba diving aficionado, what i don't understand is how come SHE had the undersea inspiration and at least TWO OTHERS (Tisci for Givenchy and Lagerfeld for Chanel) had the same marine inspiration...another interpretation of it, of course, but the same marine thing...Its too big a coincidence to be a coincidence, if you know what i mean.

@videocrack246 I'm not sure if it was a coincidence or not but I know that Lee was a huge scuba diving fan and took a lot of his inspiration from those underwater experiences.
Perhaps Burton decided to take on an underwater theme b/c her strength is playing with applique/tecture (if you've ever been scuba diving or seen docos about reefs you'll understand) plus the fact that scuba diving was on of Lee's passions.

I like how McQueen's last collection in 2010 was Plato's Atlantis and just now is everyone catching up.

I always wonder how is it that trends suddenly appear in many different collections? like, do the designers agree on designing around a certain trend? or is it just a HUGE coincidence? like how is it that both chanel and mcqueen had marine inspirations? how is it that midriffs with skirts and bustiers suddenly appear in collections in new York and Dolce and Gabbana in Milan? can anyone explain?

shoes are AMAZING!!! and Julia Nobis opened?
-
where is the inspiration for pastel and aquatic coming from? does anyone know?

Call me crazy but some of these looks remind me a lot of something I'd see in Givenchy haute couture.
Sometime, when watching a McQueen review, I just get the feeling that everyone is so desperate for the collections to be in his spirit, be what he was, to carry his ideas. Like they can't really accept that he's gone and will never come back.
Sarah Burton is amazing, but she's not him.

Lee trusted Sarah's vision and her ability; remember that.
This collection is exquisite.
