This is my 1977 Yamaha XS650. Me and my dad got it for $370 and have fixed it up to what you see today! When we got it it was faded banana yellow.

Paint - just spray bomb with a spray bomb clear coat with hardener.

Drag bars/flat bars with bar end mirror

2-1 Mac exhaust

Brand new mikuni round slide carbs (36mm, but i can't remember for sure)

In the near future I want to scrap the stock seat and get something more cafe racer styled. Let me know what you think!

  • thats cool, im buying one for 350 soon and plan on fixing that up, how much do you think it ended up costing you all together

  • @JSnyder49428 Into it for $1000. Did everything in my garage, including a spray bomb paint job/pin stripes. haha. Tires were the most expensive part.

  • Where did you get a Mac 2-1 exhaust that is gold colored like that?

  • @armyofda12monkeys Its not gold. That is just the chrome "bluing" because of the exhaust.

  • No offence... but your gonna get fucked up kicking it like that, don't lock your knee when you start it, I've seen broken legs and my own 650 kicked on me one time... That's when i learned lol

  • Thanks, I'll keep that in mind!

  • Street track it man !!

  • Hey, I sold a 77' 650 Yamaha in June. I bought it new in March of 1977 and ran it for 30 years. Sold it for $ 500 to a guy who re-builds bikes. Don't change a thing on your bike. It looks great the way it is

  • Beautiful.

  • @randomnicity don´t believe the horrorstories about broken legs and so on

i kicked my xs650 and sr500 bikes for more than 20 years and nothing ever happened

but I always took care to let the foot slip off the lever when approaching the end position of the kickstarter

  • had 1, 4 inch gash in the seat ?

  • what an exhaust is that?

  • bob it.
