Poppadom (papadum) is a thin wafer from India that's usually made from lentil or chick pea flour. Most cookbooks and web sites recommend buying prepackaged poppadom from the store. They say the taste is not much different from making it home-made and it's much much quicker.

Here's how you fry packaged poppadom: Place individual poppadoms in a frying pan or on a griddle on medium heat. Cook for 1 to 5 minutes on each side until golden. Keep an eye on the the frying pan - this cooks quickly! Enjoy! -Mama Lisa
