@MrMicErick there's a difference between easy and free, no matter what you should expect to pay some cash. All things considered this is a rather cheap method. A dazzle only costs around $50, and if you have a lot of tapes, or record from your gaming consol (like I do) it's worth it.

I recommend the Canon MV960 or other DV or HDV camcorder capable of the AV > DV/HDV change.
