Worked this out by ear last night so thought I should record it and it has turned out quite well so here it is. Only the intro up until the singing enters.

Am I miming to the track? No, in the background you can hear the rhythm guitar and the drums from the CD but I panned the lead guitar out of the mix (set speakers to Right only) so the lead you can hear is all from my guitar and amp.

Please share your feedback, constructive criticism welcome.

Here is a link to both the .gp4 and .gp5 (5.2) version of Hail to the Hammer, also in midi and pdf format to cover all grounds. I will keep updating these files as I make progress (when I have spare time), so keep updating them when you feel like, it might be different at that point, it might not - that's the fun of the game.

Those of you with PowerTab can import the MIDI file and it'll load it. Bare in mind that way, the midi only includes the notes, not the tab fingering so PowerTab might give some obscure fretting but if that's the case
try and find the same note on a different string near to the previous and next notes. It'll be easier to play that way.

So far I've only tabbed up to just after the vocals come in. The rhythm isn't completely flawless, though it's pretty much there, but the notes are perfect so you can play along with the track for perfect rhythm.

Enjoy.

  • awesome. where did you get the shirt?

  • Thanks. I got the shirt in the "Metal Market" at Wacken Open Air in 2007.

  • Keep up the good work!

  • Thanks! =)

I will record the rest of the song at some point when I have a bit more time.

  • Hy! Do you have a tab made by yourself, when you figured it out? Coz a tab would be fantastic! Plz do if you haven't done it yet! Plz plz plz! :PPP

  • I have a tab of what I played there and the start of when the vocals come in. I have it in Guitar Pro 4 and 5 format, do you have Guitar Pro? If not I can make it a pdf so you can see it.

  • hey man awesome tab. One thing I am currently using your tabs to learn the song as well, but I cant find the middle chorus riff for the song, do you know how I can obtain it?

  • awesome, can you plz tab it? I can not find it anywhere, and I'm beginner so I can't figure it out by ear, and it would be perfect for training. :)

  • Nice played!

Would be awesome if you could tab it as well when you are finished.

    Cheers :)
