EDIT: I've realised that Dave's hair isn't the right colour, I was working from memory and I assumed it was black for some reason. That's changed now, both versions are available.

Just a quick video to show some more of the Mods I have created recently based on "MS Paint Adventures" characters. As with my previous Mods, facial features and designs are done with stickers at varying expenses of effort. Seriously, it's a wonder how I find the time for all this bullshit.

Dave Strider arrives on the scene in a typically chilled-out badass manner, with his signature racer in tow. John Eggbert also makes his appearance, although without a racer at present. Then again he could always borrow the biznasty GameBro Braggin' Wagon, sponsored by Broritos, which is currently without a driver.

On a dark moonlit night you hear a gruff noise in the distance, sounding like an approaching thunderstorm. A black shadow shoots past cutting through the darkness in a hardboiled fashion. Catching a glimpse of the amateurish bodywork you realise there can only be one culprit. Spades Slick is in town.

  • To Dave's right in the selection screen...is that Hass the Rock?

  • @8BitTehGameMasta Yeah, although he's somewhat of an easy character to make so I didn't include him in the video. Well spotted though! :P

  • dave needs to look cooler

  • Spade Slick has ears.

    WHAT.

  • @0HellsZargon0 OK. Well, let me know when you'd like for me to try to attract some participants from YouTube.

By the way, I suppose that we could hold separate kinds of contests for designing mods and/or karts of certain themes, though like any design contest like American Idol, we're going to need some judges, preferably those with fine taste in the field of fashion design.

  • @ShadowWolfTJC Oh no, I wouldn't want to force people to play a particular mod/kart. I was thinking more long the lines of broad suggested themes like "pirates" or something. As you say that's not really important though, the tracks are the biggest part of something like this. That and having the people to participate in the first place. :P

  • @0HellsZargon0 I'm not sure if we should require players to play as certain mods or karts, but playing on certain tracks sounds like a neat idea assuming that either we can find such tracks online or that someone would take the time to create them. Or we could also make tournaments that encompass tracks made by a particular person like you, me, or even someone outside the group like Nuclearfish or darkfable1. Heck, I'm even all for just taking turns showing eachother's tracks.

  • @ShadowWolfTJC Yeah, I'd agree there should be more of an emphasis on social fun and creation sharing rather than proper competitive racing. I was thinking that if this really got going instead of themes like in the Mario Kart Cups we could have themes based around tracks and characters that people have created instead, maybe with track contributions from a few different people in each cup.

  • @0HellsZargon0 Maybe we can make this available to various people on YouTube if not many people from Mario Heaven are participating? Also, will we be racing on UFG-created tracks, or player-created tracks?

Finally, I'm just going to say that, unlike those Mario Kart Wii tournaments, I won't be joining just to see how skilled a racer I am compared to the others. Rather, I'll be joining to see what other people's tracks are like, to showcase my own tracks, and to mingle with the others. :)

  • @ShadowWolfTJC Possibly. There's maybe one possibly two other people with the game, but they haven't been on much. I was originally considering starting some kind of regular non-competitive cup thing like we have for Mario Kart, but there's simply nowhere near enough people as of present. Maybe I'll bring it up and see what happens.
