This is a walkaround video of my 1977 Jeep CJ5. This Jeep was given to me by my Grandfather who was given 6 months to live with lung cancer. My message: DONT SMOKE. My grandfather has been a smoker for years and this is how it turns out. ITS NOT WORTH IT. Anyways back to my story... I had a 1986 Jeep Cherokee which we drove 2 hours to buy thinking it was an old Wrangler but when we got there it was a cherokee. So we bought it anyways and did some work to it and got it trail and road ready. A few months before my 16th birthday my grandfather gave me this CJ5 so I sold my Cherokee and put the money back into the CJ. I've rebuilt the carb, put new 3 way shoulder seatbelts in, new plugs and plug wires, new tires, shined the wheels, washed the CRAP out of it, primed rust spots (dont mind the holes in the side...that was a rust spot), repainted lots of parts, put new mirrors on, put new shifter knob on my girlfriend got me for my birthday =P, and added a small AMMO can as a toolbox.
Now I'm saving for a new top, back seat, and new front seats. I'm trying to save about $1300,00 for all that. The top is in horrible condition. Were also fixing to build a console where i can mount my CB, aswell as store things and will FINALLY HAVE A CUPHOLDER! lol...anyways I figured I'd share all that with you guys. Really hope you enjoy the video. This Jeep is very special to me and means alot so please leave feedback and comments.

This was the Jeep when we first got it home. http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn210/Supertrucker1993/JeepArrival.jpg
This was a few months after we got it home aswell as the day the Cherokee sold.

  • Man, thats an old Levis Jeep!!! Be sure to put the Levis package back together, seats, dash pad, top.

  • sadly i hate the blue seats and pad so they're going to black. It'll never be resold so i dont really care about value. I will put the Levi stickers back on but it'll be painted orange and trimmed in black. I have a more recent video f it here on youtube =) Thanks for the comment btw.

  • u no a good paint job on 'er would make her look real good

  • @SuperTrucker1993 Would you want to sell the levi dash pad and the bow covers? Since you don't like them, I would buy them from you! Let me know!

  • Sorry to hear about your Granpa, I buy a new Wrangler every two years, love em!

  • @SuperTrucker1993 Nice to hear you aint gonna sell it =) Fix it up good.

  • wow your i6 sounds great

    great jeep 5/5 bro

  • Nice jeep bro.

  • take your time . fix it up and enjoy it , your Grandfather would be proud .

  • I'd say, your grandpa was absolutely right. And, he was a man of taste and vision by giving you a jewel waiting for TLC.. Man, cherish the car, for it will give you warm thoughts of your late grandfather every time you see, drive, or take care of it. Please don't turn it into a pumped and pimped "thing". Leave it as much the same as when he gave it to you. Warm regards, a dutch 1977 CJ5 owner.
