I can imagine Bob laughing his ass off at that show while high. I've known a few Jamaicans that think cartoons are way funnier than they are :P could be the pot, could be the sense of humor from the culture, could be both idk :)
Who cares Bob made some cool tunes who cares if he did steal it and im not saying he did but so what i mean its not like he got famous for the one song so the banana splits dont have a reason to be anrgy if they are
The Banana Splits were never "underground". If you were a around in 1969/70 you knew the song.
It's called cryptomnesia - you come up with something you think is original but isn't. My Sweet Lord is a great example where someone famous got nailed for it. Bob should have been sued.
Why is it so far-fetched for Bob Marley to adapt part of the tune from the Banana Splits? I'm not accusing him doing it, but why not?
I know that Buffalo Soldiers was written long before its release, but couldn't the "Wajaja" part have been added much later?
If he did decide to use it, I wouldn't classify it as stealing. I would almost give him props for using it in a different way. I think it's kind of cool that they are so similar.
Bob wrote Buffalo soldier very early in his career, it was just never released, during his lifetime. his wife rita put together the whole confrontation album, which buffalo soldier was released on. im pretty sure thats the facts, not positive though. I believe buffalo soldier came first.
