My first attempt to create a HDTV antenna and the results were great!

This was based on the GH design:
8 gauge bare copper from Home Depot $8
1x indoor/outdoor transformer from Radioshack (I chose the gold plated for $7)
6x wood screws and 6x washers $2
1x piece of wood - free
15 min procedure

Use the design from:
http://www.digitalhome.ca/ota/superantenna/design.htm

As you can see from the result, I get about 17 OTA DTV signals.

This beat the $39+ RCA High Gain Indoor Antenna from Wal-Mart for less than half the price!!!

I ended up painting the piece of wood black before placing it in the roof.

When I had it on the ground, I was getting 9 channels, but as soon as I moved it in the roof, I got 17 channels. NBC was a little hard to get but fine tuning (moving) the antenna fixed the problem.

I was getting UHF and Hi-V (VHF?) signals.... According to FCC, I have 16 total in my area (strong - weak signals), but somehow my antenna picked up 17 channels. Not entirely sure where I got the other one from.
