  • Boo Boulez! Boo Chereau! Wish you both had never come to Bayreuth--ruined the intent of the Master!!! That is called conceit. "fresh blood" indeed. What was Wager's intent with the music Boulez?? It called for so many instruments--its not up to YOU to change them!

  • You can hear the most detail in performances by Boulez. When you are listening it sounds like he focused on every single note in the score.

  • again: bravo to this production - I have to see it again ! and thanks so much for sharing the *making of*....

  • boulez was so young!

  • Boulez is one of the giants.

Some argue with certain choices or taste, but the bottom line is personal stamp.

Boulez has one and places it upon everything he conducts.

I believe that he, not Toscanini, is the true master of revealing what the composer actually intended without artifice.

Sure other conductors are more German, and that is a wondeful thing.

Boulez shows that which is Omni-European in Wagner's music.
