The GN/and the more powerfull GNX were 2 different birds. Both quite potent-but the more pleasing sound is from the 5.0.Sounds like a V8/not a vacuum cleaner on 220 volt.Sorry,V6'S are for honda's w/fart cans.

@RussHamString if you ever do want to sell it and it is the GNX I would be interested in buying it

The Grand National is a beautiful car. If you raced a stock Grand National vs. any stock Fox body Mustang from the 80's, the Grand National will kick it's ass as it would any 80's car in the US. Please stop with the "Mustang's are better" and "Grand National's are better" crap. I personally like both but I purchased an '87 Grand National because if I ever had to sell it (I hope I won't). But if I do I'll be able to get a lot more money than the $50 I would get for any Fox Body Mustang.

@moejr1974 Never took it to a track. Only street races in the Chicago area. Best guess would be probably mid to high 13's, as I know stock GN's ran high 13's to low 14's. I didn't dust the GN's, mind you, but I did beat 4 out of 6 on the street 0-80 or so. Not to mention the crymaros and t/a's of the genre were pretty much toast and I hung with the turbo t/a on a couple of occasions as well as regularly beating 350's in all sorts of GM's. But that Fox is long gone now...
-Peace.

@marcomariaz26 What you run in the quarter?

@moejr1974 Never said the 86 5.0 I had was stock. had cam, better exhaust, intake and t.body. And yes, I did beat Grand Nationals, with the intercooled engine...
-
@marcomariaz26 The only way a stock 86 5.0 beat a GN was if the GN was an 84 or 85 non intercooled one.
-
@TheHorefrost I owned a 1986 5.0 and dusted F-bodies, and hung with and even beat a couple of GN's, so nice try!!! Maybe with a chip that GN made a stock 5.0 look like a 'joke', but with a good driver and 5-speed stick, a 5.0 was quick, regardless of your claims, bub...

@terron1919 nothing can touch it 20+ years later, eh?
I was a little kid in the 80's but what I've heard is that the reason why GM decided to kill the GN was because it was faster than the Corvette.

Why don't these cars get the respect they deserve?
