@Svensland90, just because you're a 22-year old ignorant Nürnberger, doesn't really make you a music critic, now does it? Maybe you should go listen to some more dubstep or jerk-off to more White Stripes videos, because that's probably where you will find the abovementioned riffs.

Watch the rhythm of the picking pattern. Without effects, he plays straight half notes...but when the effects are ON, the picking rhythm is syncopated.
So, as simple as that riff is, he played it wrong without effects. Way to suck, The Edge.
