Powerful thunderstorm rain in Scottsdale, AZ. This storm had very high winds, heavy rainfall, and produced quarter-size hail. This same storm system produced four tornadoes in the Flagstaff area of Northern Arizona.
The monsoon season in Arizona produces massive thunderstorms and torrential rainfall every year between the months of June and October. Winds as high as 60 m.p.h. can also precede these monsoon thunderstorms and create massive dust clouds called dust storms.
