  • Excellent!

  • Yes, and they PLAY that other set so very well, too. Their rendition of it in the All-Ireland Championships from (I think) '07 is one of the best MSR performances I've ever heard in my life. I'm a little tired of "The Highland Wedding," but not they way they play it! Tremendous sound with razor execution and perfect expression, absolutely brilliant throughout the whole set you mentioned.

  • SLOT are certainly getting there. AND they've got the better Drum Corps!!

  • And another 8 parter in MSR 2 with Pretty Marion! 6 Part Highland Wedding, 6 Part Blair Drummond and 8 Part Marion...WHAT A SET... WHAT A BAND!!!!

  • I was at Dunbarton and listened to most of the grade one bands tuning up. Thought they were good until I came on FM Pipers at the bus. I was blown away by their tone, chanter pitch, discipline, they have it all. There wasn't a band in the park to touch them. I hear that their new medley is a corker. Can't wait to hear it.

  • A class act.

Epic drones, as per usual, and good phrasing and lift through all tunes. A cut above....but SLOT were also superb. Both are alone at the top until SFU turf up IMHO.

  • About two parts into their march I awarded them First Place. I don't need to hear their medley; I don't want to hear any other bands. "FIRST". Done. Let's go to the beer tent. Kudos to them for dusting off parts 5 and 6 of "Pipe Major Thomas McAllister". So not only do they have a badass sound; they play a badass EIGHT-PARTED march, the lovely Susan, then "Charlie's Welcome". Tough stuff to beat.
