Not exactly...lol... Autotune is a pitch correction software. But there are effects in the software that allows you to do the "T-Pain voice (lol)". All producers use it to correct the pitch of ALL SINGERS. Even the best singers in the world use some form of pitch correction to make the vocals sound flawless on a cd. T-pain can't sing for shit, but he uses autotune to create that catchy effect that everybody's just now jumpin on. Even if he doesn't use the effect, auto tune is used to correct him

you know what im so sick of hearing motherfuckers talking about autotune like that, autotune is not for people who cant sing it is an effect, if u knew anything about music and vocalists u would know t-pain can sing and he doesn't use autotune to correct his pitch he uses it to create a unique sound it is the same as guitarists using a wah wah pedal or producers using electrtic instruments so stop bagging t-pain for using autotune he is a true musician and thats what musicians do!!
