I have often wondered about hard and soft, the connection between them and how they work together or are they opposing forces with different outcomes. My Tai Chi teacher and kung fu teacher praised the soft arts without rigidity and my karate colleagues said the soft stuff is too weak.Just watching this short video, its saying to me, "be quite and listen to the force". Key words, quite and force.
Quite meaning soft and force meaning hard. So much to say about this but will sum it up here, its all applicable when it needs to be applicable. No cure all, no one movement, no one style, it all works together. Sometimes being soft can amplify the force of a hard strike. Soke, I don't mean to sound like a fortune cookie or mystic but you have that affect on us bro. Keep doing what you do and we will keep learning and filling our cup with the HARD drink that goes down SOFT.
One of the best Taichi videos I've seen! Most videos tend to just show us the "badassery" of the art. Thank you for showing us the "internal", or "soft" part of Taichi practice. More power to Tai Chi, and more power to you!
Another very interesting video. Good demonstrations.
