He's 14, most of the nay sayers posting probably couldn't play mary had a little lamb at that age. There are 8 y/os who play better & 40 year olds who play worse.
I say: Keep playing kid. Practice is the key to improvement. Work on your phrasing, try to make your licks say something instead of just being groups of notes, even if they fit into the music. Get out of the box & work on some lateral patterns, down & across & up and across type stuff. Never listen to the douchebags & keep on playin!
