Billy was a 5th Beatle the other guys have already declared that. Yes Sir George hold the title as well, but in a different light. Trust me there is room for both to hold the title!

Naww. All Billy Preston did was play on a few songs off Abbey Road and Let It Be. George Martin wrote the string arrangements to every Beatle song ever except The long and Winding road and Shes Leaving Home. He also played keyboard and other instruments many many times on Beatle tracks, especially in their early days. If anyone is the 5th Beatle, (musically) it's George Martin.
