Hey Marseilles East Coast Tour Contest

We're running a little photo contest for our east coast dates:
8/1 SUN: New York NY
8/2 MON: Cambridge MA
8/3 TUE: Philadelphia PA
8/4 WED: Washington DC
8/5 THUR: Northhampton MA
8/6 FRI: Bangor ME

1. Take photos at a show
2. Upload said photos to flickr with the tags: hey, marseilles, super, contest
3. Done

At the end of the tour, we'll pick two winners and send out a custom merch pack prize featuring the CD, Vinyl, a tee-shirt and other loot for fun.

What is this genre called, because many many bands sound like this, - though yes, within a range of some differentiation-, but are distinctly in this fairly distinct genre. You will find a band that basically sounds like this in practically every city with a 'white' Euro-ancestric culture in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, England, and Northern Europe. It's an 'average' 'down to earth' music style. Let's give it a name. How about: Downhome Earthy. I'm trying to appreciate this.
