  • Truth has just bit your sorry lying ass. Fred is the truth, a poets dream, a man who sees through the mundane world. If you hear his message, you got hope.

Love this man's message!!! Fred Neil, the legend.

  • Fred Neil was a giant. Steve Stills says he learned everything about guitar from Fred. And John Sebastian says he learned how to write songs. And his reputation for helping young performers is legendary. This is the real f'in thing. This is soul. If you don't get what Fred Neil is about then you're missing what the base of the blues, country, rock amalgamated is. And the start of electric instruments mixing with acoustic. A musician's musician. After 45 years of listening I never tire of him.

  • @petercrowley41 Thanks, I played with Lisa off and on from '76 to '82. She, along with her ex, John Besarian, opened MANY doors for me in the Bay area. Fred did a one off show for the Dolphins and thru Lisa I got to meet him. I still play a few of his tunes. Lisa can be found on YouTube.

  • @michaelgerarddejong - Yes, I remember Lisa Kindred from Bleecker and MacDougal... I believe she's still active in Frisco these days.

  • @petercrowley41 did you ever run into Lisa Kindred in those days ? She hung and played with that crowd before moving to San Francisco.

  • Query the record labels. Even a video of a studio session would be great.

  • I can't blame anyone else for not filming Fred at the Night Owl 'cause I failed to do so myself.

  • Fred Neil wrote a lot of great lyrics, but these might be my all-time favorites. This album, also, way ahead of its time. They talk about the looseness of something like Bloomfield-Kooper-Stills "Super Session" . . . nothing beats the improvisational feel of Fred Neil "Sessions." I wish there were just one clip of him playing live somewhere out there somewhere.

  • YES!
