A new version (0.81) of sverx's LIBXM7 (a Nintendo DS XM replay library) was released. The affiliated demo comes with a fresh set of tunes including a brand new one by yours truly. It's called Ribbed Rubber and it's what you're hearing now. The song was especially chosen and finished for this LIBXM7 release, because it makes heavy use of (and in fact, relies on) the portamento effect commands which are now supported. This time, pure chiptune action in 6 channels, written in trusty MilkyTracker.
The other songs in the demo were written by (c)runX, Magic Fred and Romeo Knight. You might be interested in the improved playback of Magic Fred's "Hurtless part 1", also known as the title theme from the GBA/NDS game Anguna: Warriors of Virtue. The DS port of Anguna is the first released homebrew application to utilize LIBXM7 and this update means it will sound closer to the GBA original in future versions.

Looks like this little mod player for the DS is coming along nicely. And cool tune! You'll have to explain one of these days how you did the lo-pass filter effect on the drums ;)
