I realize this is an old discussion now, but I think what piticbogdan is referring to is at 0:13. Maybe they are security keypads or something and not tstats. In my experience (25+ years installing systems like this in very high end homes), clients (and their designers) are more concerned with aesthetics. Touch screens, when properly designed, DO offer quick access to those functions. Only ONE additional button press on the screen eliminates a keypad/tstat/security keypad cluttering up the wall.

That said, I do agree that it's best not to eliminate light switches/keypads in favor of a touch screen. Security keypads should not be eliminated, but installed in closets, pantries, etc. so that they are still accessible in an emergency (control system failure) but not visible & ugly in the middle of a wall.

why the thstats have to be next to the touchpanels....they are not integrated into the sytem ?
piticbogdan 4 years ago
1- There is no thermostat Next to touch panel.
2- In Case There is, Please Note that People Like to have swift access to local Systems like lights and temperature or music ++
3- Touch screens are usually Great for Centrally controlling and Monitoring remote Zones as they are Menue and Multi Page driven.
I hope I have Enlightened you sir. Again it is client's Need and Choice.
