Amtrak train - car collision footage - cab view (read description!!)

This is video footage from the cab of an Amtrak train that collided with a car early in the summer of 2009. This event occurred at the Hannan crossing in Canton Township. This is train 353, which travels from Pontiac, MI to Chicago via Detroit on the Michigan line, This segment is owned by Norfolk Southern. It was travelling at 70 mph westbound around 12:10 pm.

This is potentially what can happen when someone doesn't yield for an oncoming train. Please be safe and never disregard the warning lights and gates at a railroad crossing. Trains cannot swerve or stop quickly. Stay safe.

This video was released by the Canton police department.

At least by the time the engineer got it shut down, they were pretty close to another crossing so the FD and PD units would not have to trek far to the scene.

@CamoDiesel The Kid driving the car was actually banned from driving at the time. So he is responsible for everything. Killing his 5 friends and giving the train driver his worst nightmare. GOOD RIDDANCE!!!
