    You start light and work up over months/years :) That guy didn't just walk into the gym for the first time and pull that. Your body adapts to the load.

    I personally don't use a belt, have done in the past and I can see their utility,they let you lift a bit more weight. I have never had any back problems. Some people use em some don't.

    A belt might put an extra 10kg on my dead-lift, cant' really speak for anyone else.

  • how you guys do this without hurting your back amazes me. How much does the belt help? How much for instance would you attempt to lift with out it say?
