  • @KingRobbStark Mmmm ? Martin was writing and editing for living longer than I live, which definitely qualifies him as professional (from profession). . What you may wish to say that Martin is not a commercial writer, sprouting a book every year regardless for quality and trying to ride previous successes by distributing half baked novels. Indeed Martin doesn't seem to do that, he is an artist,, and thank god for that.

  • just finished Clash of Kings earlier today. Damn what a great series this is.

  • @lisovc2 No, I was just interested in your opinion, not trying to start an argument. It's just that I'm reading the Malazan books at the mo, and really loving them, but am also really looking forward to starting Martin's books too. What is it, to you, that makes A Song of Ice and Fire so much better?

  • @FiveFingerRainRap that's their opinion, this is mine. just different point of views, sorry for being so definitive

  • The superpowers thing sounded like the 4400 witch i loved.

  • @TrojanMike60

Surely he's got notes. Don't worry too much. By the time you have grand kinds you'll finally know the end.

  • @mortalclarification

The dude has made his livelyhood in a variety of different mediums; writing, editing, producing TV shows, I think, etc. he doesn't tie himself to one thing. Now, add to that the obvious fact that he's a perfectionist and you have a very long development periods. So you're right, and I'd add that aAnyone who says he doesn't work hard enough is a moron.

  • @lisovc2 why? I've heard a lot of people that perfer Erikson over Martin

  • @beef4u2use Agreed. Considering how long Martin's writing process is combined with his age has me very worried about the series' end.

  • I don't think anything is on par with this series. However, at his pace, I doubt it will ever get finished.

  • @KingRobbStark: The malazan series on par with a song of ice and fire? The Malazan series is as good as Dragon Ball Z is good. Don't get me wrong I love DBZ but comparing the Malazan series with a novel like the A Song of Ice and Fire is plain stupid
