The rollers and motor for the van der graaf have been finished. The bottom roller her is the original aluminium roller from the sander left in place on the sander belt carriage- this leaves the gearing and pulleys in tact and they can be used as is - I, however, cut a u channel in the pulley so i could use a larger belt. The motor is in the original housing which has been mounted on a base plate and had the pulley cut to a u groove to correspond the roller pulley. The only other modification was the removal of the starting capacitor - but this will be replaced when i put in the control electronics. The top roller uses the original steel rest which has been cut as shown and fixed to a plastic disc that just fits in the top pipe of the van der graaf.
