Featuring hand-made crafts, storytellers, elder presenations, a powwow singing workshop, and a demonstration stomp dance, the RSU Native American Heritage is held every year the Saturday before Thanksgiving on the Claremore, OK, campus of Rogers State University. Big thanks go out to Jack Anquoe, Jr. for leading the powwow singing workshop, David Proctor for organizing the stomp dance, Sam Proctor for speaking, Victor Wildcat, Tracy and Matt Settlemeyer, Shane Dominic, and Feather Smith for crafts, Andy Alexander for emceeing the stomp dance, Stephanie Scott for storytelling, and RSU NASA for helping out throughout the day. Just learning the Sony Vegas Platinum 9 editing software, and still have a way to go understanding titles (which is why I didn't put people's names in the first edit) and sound volume manipulation... and, if I only had that steadicam arm for opening pans. Aside from all the presenters, my favorite production part of this piece is the way the circles are a visual theme in the video between the circular stomp dance and the baskets, dream catchers, bread, and then gives the circle over to the powwow singing workshop. Viva la form cuts!

  • and cans perferably because i need some now for my cousin Jayda so if anyone makes them or knows somewhere close to bville contact me or because i am looking for used or new shellshakers so thanks everone

  • As mentioned, go to the Creek Council House museum in Okmulgee, or call them and see if they have any....

  • Well, you can pick some up from time to time down at the Creek Council Museum in Okmulgee, but mainly the milk-can kind. Sometimes you see them at the Creek Nation festival in the arts and crafts tents. Turtles are tougher to get.
