This is another response to a question in the Presonus Forums about Pitch Correction in Studio One. There is no Automatic pitch option yet in S1 but there is a powerful, on the fly pitch correction option that not many know about. In this video, I walk you through Vocal track volume editing, pitch correction, track layers and the consolidation (bounce) function. Very cool stuff.

  • Can you tell me what shortcut you used to open the pointer tool panel in the edit screen?, pelease let me know...thanks for your help and time....you aré the best.

  • @dorolivares Thanx man!. I just click the mouse wheel. That opens up the hidden panel.

  • Hi, is there a possiblity to transpose audio WITHOUT using timestretch?

    thanks

  • @highvoltaged This method described does not use time stretch. It simply tunes. So the answer is yes.

  • @highvoltaged Unless of course you want the sound to actually get slower, when actually tuning down, in which case the answer is no.

  • I have a question relating to pitch editing... I have finished record a song using Studio One Artist. The recording came out great. However, the song is in the wrong key for the singers and the song needs to be transposed down to C from D. All of the tracks are wave files. Is there a way to transpose these files so we don't have to re-record everything? I know that in Garage Band this can be done. But that doesn't help me now.

  • @77naes Yes you can. Highlight all the events in the event view. Right next to the tune I was using is the Transpose. With all the tracks highlighted, increase that number from 0 to 2. That will raise the tracks up 2 semi tones, from C to D. Now depending on the sound it may or may not sound quite right bu 2 steps should be ok. Try it!!

  • vocal layering is there a way to take 3 vocal tracks pitch 2 of them by 4 cents while keeping the lead as is. Im experimenting. Also to get rid of those cut marks did you just bounce to make one stream.

Thanks. and your live stream is great although Im catching the recorded versions

  • THANKS! YOU just saved me hours of time and hundreds of dollars; I LOVE Studio One (I used to use ProTools but Studio One is a lot less expensive and does everything that ProTools did for me) but this tip takes care of what I need to do for pitch correction. Thanks again! Greetings from Chicago, Lisa Gee.

  • you opened the inspector to get to the tune and inspector squares, when i have my vocal trac highlighted and hit inspector, no tune area come up, just a box/area that says "no events selected" please tell me what im missing as im in desperate need of my numbnut complex infliction for the day! thanks!!!,,,,,,,,, Dave.

  • This is helpful. THANK YOU.

  • Hello, i'm new to this DAW and i am an FL user, how do you set Studio One up so that when you press 'Enter' the marker returns back to the place your editing not the actual start of song? Is there a way?

    Thanks.
