It's not to prevent the car from lifting off the ground, it's to prevent the front suspension from extending. it keeps the wheels pressed hard against the ground, giving it as much traction as possible. It has nothing to do with preventing wheelies.

why does anyone believe you need wheelie bars for a frontwheel drive car... cause that makes no sense....but i have seen this car and i wouldve never believed a ff car could do this
