this tradition started as any other tradition......popularity and the human desire to be accepted by society. Every country, nation and tribe of people have different traditions. Some have a reasonable meaning and some were made up by and idiot and everybody followed it for no reason. Most of the stuff that people do, they have no clue why they do it. They do it just because grandma and grandpa and so forth did it. I pray for this world...........

Why can't we understand this as a rite of passage. It does look painful, but we have to remember that this IS a two minute clip that shows violence without explanation. This could be a how the women show that they are ready for childbirth. Believe me this a walk in the park compared to birthing a baby without drugs.

people every tribe has its own tradition whether it be retarded or cool, its something that makes them who they are..so u can either respect their traditions or not...every other tribe in the world has something that they do...that makes them unique from the others.

Just browsing. And it looks like the tradition was brought on by man ovr woman society. Its not like I would treat these women with scars on their back ne different from othrs without. If they want me to respect them then that's when i won't.

These are not the average Africans. This is just some rare tradition that probably hardly any tribe has except this one.
And what do you mean this is why niggers are inferior? There are plenty of white girls that just love cutting themselves, or commiting suicide. These women do this for respect for their family. Why are Western women cutting themselves, commiting suicide, selling their bodies, using drugs etc. You can't judge other people's culture cus they can say the same about yours.
