I am the Director of Marketing at CIBO Clinic. I came here and told people that I probably got this job because I was overweight. It does help though. As a patient coming through this clinic, it is nice to know that the people who offer the help have been through the experience. They can relate to you. That is a good selling point for the clients.

This is something that sets us apart. The owner of the clinic, the director of patient services, and myself; we understand the procedure and the process. We understand what people go through when they are overweight. We understand the pain that they experienced.

One thing I know for certain is that the CIBO Clinic was designed and built as an obesity management centre, first and foremost. The ways the halls are structured, the chairs were designed, and the door widths were planned. Everything was designed so that you will feel comfortable when you come in. You're not trying to fit into a world that doesn't fit you.

The CIBO Clinic offers hope. More than hope, I think. It offers a family atmosphere, even though it sounds clichéd. If people commit to the program and they get in here for the follow-up, that's really important when you have lap band to be consistent in the program. If you meet your psychotherapist on a regular basis, you can come in and do some goal setting. It makes the difference. Everyone can offer a little insight, because either they're going through it or they have been through it themselves.
