  • Amen! The man is a genius--Damn the critics--the world's best lyricist--truly the minstrel for the baby boomer generation!

  • Please be kind! His voice may be shot, but I want Gord to love to be 100!

  • A toke and a cold beer with good friends and great music--life was simple and good!

  • where the wild majestic mountains stood alone against the Sun

  • Gordon Lightfoot is still amazing live, even at 73. When he plays, he plays with emotion and with purpose. There is only one Gordon Lightfoot. He's lived a hard life. It's not an easy life being a musician and Canada is very proud to have him as a musical icon.

  • He is as good, if not better here then He ever was.

    I appreciate...Him.

Take a look at Ode to Big Blue...true Lightfoot.

  • I met Gordon many years ago, a pure gentleman. He is the kindest most patient man I have met in many years. His voice may not be the same but his lyrics and voice still bring the chills out of me. What a representative of a generation! May he live long and healthy. Gordon we still listen and learn from you.

  • I was in the womb for my first Gordon Lightfoot Concert. (cheap seats at Maple Leaf Gardens - maybe explains some of my unique personality traits!!) I still get chills everytime I hear this song! What a fantastic piece of canadian songwriting!! Without a doubt one of my all time favorite songs!!

  • Pure genius. A real critic might call the rhythmic and tonal phrases used to depict a steam engine train unsophisticated. It's a good thing Gordon Lightfoot doesn't write his music for the real critics. Thank you for the music Gordon Lightfoot. You've enriched my life for over 40 years.

  • this guy is frickin amazing. don't matter how old he gets; listening to this version still gave me chills and totally stopped time around me. brilliant, brilliant music

  • @Syzygy60 I understand. It hurts so much, and it can take years to recover if you're weak in any other way, which I am. My Bonny was such an amazing dog and I miss her so much.

  • @Syzygy60 this song fits most of teh civlised world Eh?, to me it does, it to me speaks of a young country reaching out. its people growing, reaching out to better themselves and their home
