  • great simple cost effective idea, but does this mean i need to buy a car for leverage now LOL

  • @steve60855 hehe... sure does!

  • Glad I was able to help!

  • Did you have the 2x6 as close to rim as possible. BTW, a 2x4 might be better, it's moving a smaller section off the rim than a 2x6. But sorry it didn't work, must be frustrating.

  • Removing the core is real easy... the tool can be had in any car parts or Wal-mart for a few dollars. Google "Tire Valve Stem Core Remover Tool". It just unscrews out.

It lets the air out fast. Without doing this you will never "seat" the tire, which needs to be inflated fast in-order to push the tire over the shoulder of the rim.

  • would this work on a atv tire?

  • @TheUsernine No reason why it wouldn't. It's all the same idea.

  • Great and practical technique. Thanks for your video.

  • we used my buddies truck and a 2x6 on an ATV tire and it didn't move at all

  • @rogerscottburchett1 how did he save 5 bux

  • now l used the method shown in this video on a car tire, not jeep or truck, and it kinda worked, with the scraper . bead went down and then l took tire off with screwdrivers, a few small scratches made but its old wheels. aluminium.

  • Brilliant, thank you. Everyone says to remove the valve core, why is this? Can't I just let the air out of the tyre?

  • Tire jack works too off the bumper.

  • LOL, great idea. I'm gunna do that from now on.

  • watch him f##k his car and his tire and rim to save 5bucks,

  • @orangestoneface LOL, I'm with you there! Over the years I tried some crazy things.

  • ah why didnt i find this video when i looked for a way , I used a car jack under rear of car and a boat scraper, pushed down on that near bead, block under end of scraper.

  • @remle22 Glad I could help! Gotta love the web.

  • Hi -- GREAT HELP!! First time for me, trying to replace valve stem on friend's lawn tractor front tire. Could not break bead doing usual things, so I came in and Googled, got your video, did almost exactly as your video showed --- used 2x6 lever and a 2x4, put 2x6 end under tractor, positioned short 2x4, and BINGO!! Thanks for the easy solution --- valve stem is replaced and everything is just fine now!! Regards, Bob T.
