  • We cook breakfast together most saturdays. Get this. He even likes to cook food that he doesn't eat. Eggs for example. He cooks them and then is pleased that others enjoy eating them.

ABA could never teach him to enjoy other peoples emotions.

  • That's great news. I' m very happy for you.

  • he nay be annoying to you, but hes helping thousands of familes...rdi works!! well put donna williams i agree completely =)

  • I'm skeptical about RDI, but I'm more open minded to anecdotes about it that am I for purported bio-med therapies. Treatments such as chelation and HBOT are questionable because there's no clear mechanism by which they could work. At least RDI is plausible. But still, I need to see some research before I sign on. There's just too much fraud out there, and so little oversight of snake oil salesmen for me to sign on.

  • He's annoying. What's with the pleading tone of his voice? Why doesn't he know how to pronounce chasm. This guy is charging families huge amounts of money for personal consultations. He strikes me as almost being a con-artist.

  • Yeah, I caught "chasm" too, and I thought I heard it wrong and played it over just to make sure.

  • @schpsyc77 ABA transforms a child into a machine....you want him to enjoy life and not only to live it because he has no other choice and eventually have some basic knowledge...

  • @tigger4921 where can you get a masters degree in these therapies...especially RDI...could you clarify these differences for me please?

  • please tell me if is there any training on this type of therapy available?

  • @CreddyEddy accomplishing something constructive? He needs to be constructive by documenting his work through the rigors of research which he hasnt been able to do. Until then he will always be suspect

  • There are so many misunderstandings about what applied behavior analysis is, and from reading these comments...most of your, even those who said you have "used" ABA also dont get it. ABA is a science, the science of learning for all organisms through operant and respondent conditioning. Even if your child has responded to RDI approach, the principles of behavior are at work. So your child is learning through ABA principles. Many of you wont understand this, but it is the truth. RD is a scam

  • Here's some more follow up. After about 1and a half yrs of homeschooling, my son insisted on going back to school because he wanted to be around other kids. He has made friends and has sleep overs. He gained the confidence to learn to ride a bike. He takes pride in watching his little sisters.
