whatever i get paid better here than every other job ive had, and the benefits are great, the only job ive had that gives better benefits the home depot, but hd's benefits are just ridiculously broad
50 years ago, when around 50% of all workers in the USA were Union members, it usually took just one income to support a family. Today, with around 15% of workers represented by Unions, two incomes barely get it done. Hmm, what part of this is not understandable? If it keeps going in this direction, the USA will have virtually zero middle class, is that what you want for your kids?
I just watched an interesting video on the right scoop originally presented on the daily show. It seems the protesters are non union temps hired to walk the line by the union. What hypocrites!!
It's hogwash, folks! I worked for both Macy's (heavily unionized) and Wal-Mart (non-unionized). After working for Macy's, I gladly came back to work at Wal-Mart. From what I have seen, Wal-Mart pays its employees better than most other retailers and offers them superior advancement potential. These union folks would have you believe that at Safeway or Sarrs, employees start off at $20/hour and smile 24/7. In reality, they probably earn less than the Wal-Mart employees.
Wal-Mart saddles the taxpayers of Washington State and America with the bill for healthcare, retirement and other economic aid for half of their workers while providing the lowest employee pay scale of any large employer in the retail industry. This drives down the pay and benefits for employee of the entire retail industry.
If you think this is OK as long as you might get a few cents off on the price of an item at Wal-Mart; you aren't much of an American, a neighbor or a human being.
Especially in this economy we need to support our community! Walmart is sucking up our tax dollars! Walmart is part of the economy problem. Think outside of the box people. Shopping Walmart you are not supporting the US economy.
