Ahh, didn't realize that. I don't speak Vietnamese and so I didn't know that, plus the subtitles don't offer that explanation. Thank you~

its revealed later in the story; that verse she sung, the old lady only heard once, and it was somehow related to the master.
-
Yes, could be that. I think that at this point in the movie, though, Kien An had not yet met Master Dao. It seemed like a funny moment. :-) I got the Three Seasons CD today from Amazon (Canada). Soooo expensive...yikes... :-/
-
that was what was epxlained to her but thats probably not the reason why she looked at her that way cuz in the movie she late calls her to see the master, cuz the song she sang was something the master knew from a long time ago.

Oh...for those unfamiliar with the story line in this segment, Kien An (the young girl) decides to sing her own song, Do Ai, as the older women are singing theirs (they sing that song to help pass the time while picking the lotuses). Well, the older woman has been leading the song for years, and Kien An is a newcomer. That's the reason for the old woman's look of utter contempt... That silent stare is saying, "This is *MY* lake, *ONLY I* can sing the solos!!!" LOL~ :-D

lol~ That look on the old woman's face is priceless. :-D Three Seasons is an exceptional film and the song Do Ai is simply beautiful. Relationship between the lotus girl and teacher was so touching; keep the Kleenex handy! ;*(
