Sandy actually said "Acting is the ability to live truthfully under imaginary circumstances." But getting the syntax completely right is just nitpicking.
And Jesus, she' s not "[including] long pauses!" That would be inorganic, untruthful, presentational, and manipulative. She is deeply listening to Sandy and answering truthfully.
