From my blog on That Guy With The Glasses:
I have been making my way through Volume One of The Real Ghostbusters DVD (Wish I had enough cash to pay for the whole set), and I came upon the episode Whore You Calling Two-Dimensional!, which is essentially the guys are transported to a cartoon world. Something weird happened when the episode hit its second commercial break, just a split second just before the Ghostbuster logo appears again to say We now return to The Real Ghostbusters an image flashed across the screen. I knew I had to see for myself that I wasnt crazy so I was able to go back a chapter, pause it, then skip to the chapter where it comes back from the second commercial break and I was able to see the image in its faded glory.
It turns out it was the very end of some sort of Terminator commercial, with a T-800 model exoskeleton and a phone number at the bottom of the screen. Either Skynet is trying to use subliminal advertising to try and take over the world (OF COURSE! yeah yeah) or Time-Life the people responsible for transferring the episodes to DVD had let slip a single frame from a commercial (Maybe some of the episodes were from recorded videotape) and didnt think much of it. Either way its odd to see this on a DVD especially one with as much attention paid to it as The Real Ghostbusters in terms of special features and such.
I tried Google to see if anyone else has made this connection but I found squat. I don't think anyone else has spotted this. So I guess I made a groundbreaking discovery!
For those who have the Volume One set, it has to be paused the split second the chapter coming from it's second commercial break begins. I have a few DVD players that if you pause it at any point, then push the chapter skip button it will go to the next chapter but remain paused, but I came across one where it does not do so, so it might not work for everyone.
I'd like to thank TGWTG user SwampHunter for taking this screencap.
If anyone can find the commercial that this belongs to, post a Video Response.
And yes I added that cheap "Skynet Awaits Your Call" message you won't find that in the actual DVD.
Yeah, I noticed this before last year. Nobody seemed to believe me either (and probably still don't). ^^;

Well I haven't seen anyone else make this discovery before I posted this, so could you direct me to where somebody else did.
