Bah. I can never just get each piece right. Love the clouds. Some improvement on the mountain, but everything in front of the mountain turned to doo doo. [6.4/10]

Sorry the video got so dark. I got a late start and nightfall crept in midway through the painting. I didn't realize the camera wasn't planning to play well with others, so it got a bit drab video wise at the end (and painting wise for that matter).

So be it. At least I got a bit of a grasp on the knife - thanks to ArabicBobRoss who gave me a very helpful pointer on how to hold the knife - it helped! At least for the mountains... now doing an evergreen tree with the knife... i tried and gave up early. :) The knife continues to be a big struggle for me. That, and getting the trees to take shape without overworking the heck out of them.

Oh well, more practice for me... either that or try a different technique.

  • omg how cool! You make it look so easy! I envy your skills

  • I appreciate that... though it's still a struggle and a bit of a love hate relationship with oils still. I hate being beaten, so I'm still in for the fight! Nearly every mountain now I've scraped away and done over... i just don't leave those bits in the video... tricky me :)

  • woah! you are improving wonderfully! best one yet! i kinda doubted it becaue it looked so dark and drab, but that was just the lighting. wonderful colors!

  • I actually quit in the middle and walked away from it... told my friend I was going to quit this one because it was crushing my spirit a bit.. but my stubborn side kicked in and I got through it.

  • your painting is awesome!! love it!...i'm starting to paint now after years of not doing it so hopefully it will look good! whats the name of the song you have in the video i loved it!!!!

  • I am struggling myself, but with the bodies of water. Suggestion on the lighting issue for video is to get yourself a flourescent lamp for background ;) that should solve it for ur nighttime painting and video taking. I love your work, it is very beautiful and you are skilled so donot give up or in! I take it you too are a Ross fan and are influenced by him as well as I am? He was so great!

  • I love the way you do the big tree at 4:45 i've not seen it done that way in a while. I usually use a fan brush. I might just have to try this method again.

  • how much would you sell that for

  • beautiful. You did good!!

  • copy by (bob ross)..lol......

  • I think this is beautiful, personally. The only thing I would go back and fix is the tree on the far right, as it's a little slanty. The painting as a whole is gorgeous though, don't be so hard on yourself. I'm tempted to walk away from my paintings too, but sometimes you need a kick in the ass to get back to it and get it done. :D

  • Wow. Looks great to me. I think you are too harsh on yourself. You've got a great grasp on the medium.

  • Wow, you did a great job. Did you learn this from Bob Ross? I have one of he tapes and you use the same techniques. Very well done.

  • :-) helooo buddyy i love ur painttaing it vas mind blaasting tooo good okayy bye bye :-)
