You're right. This guy should've probably thrown him out into the wild without any food, ability to fly, or mother. As opposed to here where he seems to be receiving the attention it deserves.

we found a bat but we had to kill it because every one in colorado hates bats but i wanted it to be my pet i would feed it bananas and grapes ( yes it was a fruit bat) every day but then my brother smashed it with a rock :(

Was this in rural Manchester? or closer to the city center?.

I'd say it was city centre. There isn't much greenery around where I live (except a river a short way away) so I was pretty surprised to find I had resident bats. I've since gone bat spotting locally...they're all over the place (several different species). I feel a new hobby coming on...

Im so glad you kept it and fed it appropriately, You should apply for a handlers license, were you interested in Bat's before you found the Pipistrelle?.

Yep, I've already attended mammal identification and surveying courses and had my own bat detector. And believe me...after looking after the lil darlin' I was certainly tempted to make it a more regular occurence.
