It is amazing how many people will quote the passages in Isaiah and Jeremiah about "cutting a tree out of the forest and decorating it" to justify their belief that Christmas is PAGAN. If you would have read the rest of the passage you would have discovered that the prophets are making fun of the people that their "god" (an idol figurine) began with a simple tree cut out of the forest, fashioned by a man's hand and chisel and then covered with silver and gold that had to be held on by nails and then the figure had to be "propped up" so it wouldn't fall over. I am sorry - but it simply has nothing to do with a christmas tree. Not a single scholary commentary will make any illusion to this having anything to do with what we call a Christmas tree. If you are going to use the Bible to make your case -at least use it correctly...please.
