Part IV of IV

Plecterlabs Crystal Focus Wiring Guide

Ok... so if you REALLY watched ALL the videos, now you REALLY can wire up your CF and REALLY have fun with your light sabers! :)

Hope it helps some folks out there who are newer to LED sabers, Crystal Focus, Li-Ion batteries, and soldering in general.

If you have questions, feel free to post or message me--but please study up a bit first before asking a question that would easily be answered by a little homework.

Take care and have fun with your lightsabers...

  • whered you get the sound from

  • @kidsnake1 Depending on the sound font demonstrated, I either designed it by myself, or (in the case of "traditional saber sounds") used Ben Burtt's awesome original work from the SW films as a basis to create an appropriate sound profile / font to capture the feel of different films, characters, moods, etc.

  • Where did you guys get that protection board? Was it at the custom saber shop or somewhere else?

  • @mhalo5 No. The protections boards can be bought separately from battery companies, or (in this case)... I removed it from a 7.2v pack in order to then demonstrate how to wire it up right here in the video.

  • @greytale Gotcha. Thanks alot!

  • @GamingxGreat I can't remember the exact total of all the electronics combined (i.e. the board, the batteries, the hilt parts, the blade holder, the blade, the LED setup, optics, switches, extra indicator LEDs, charge port)... but also... no, unfortunately I do not have the capacity & time to build sabers to be sold.

  • @greytale how much did it cost you? can you sell sabers you have made?

  • @greytale it really isnt. $8.00 is about the minimum wage here, and if i work 5 hours a day, 3 days a week, ill have like $250 in two weeks.

okay, i get what your saying. make them easily removable in case you need to change stuff.

  • @TheBlaziken437 "Throw" is not exactly the word we're looking for. You still would want to isolate the electronics from the sink tubes / hilt parts themselves... and probably aim for making it easy to remove everything in case of upgrades and/or problems.

I think you are getting a *SMALL* window in what it takes to build a high-level LED saber... on your own. :)

Let this be a forewarning to those who think "$300" (or more) is a hefty price tag. Sound like a lot? It's not.

  • soooo... just do exactly what you did in the four vids and just throw it into your hilt?
