As we were driving back to Cherokee we hit a long traffic jam on the Blueridge Parkway. In about 30 minutes we discovered the reason. A bear cub had climbed a tree overhanging the road! The higher the cub went the more tree began to bow. Needless to say traffic slowed to a crawl! In this video you will have to look closely. I was driving and could not focus the camera so well, but you can see the bear as he begins climbing again.
Once we passed the bear travel the other way was MUCH worse. The line stretched for over four miles! People held out signs asking "What's up?" and "How far to the Bear?"
Scenes from and around Cherokee North Carolina as Hakham Ahuva and I (Rabbi Yochanan) continue our roaming of the USA.
