I explain how, through the study of Ethics, I came to believe that morality was something separate from God that He wanted us to discover using reason, evidence, and experience.

  • I would love to read comments on the video, rather than the same old debates between Atheists and Believers.

  • @Hibitrit "As long as we are trying to attain that, we are Heaven bound." Apparently not. We must also be fortunate enough to worship the right god or face eternal damnation.

  • Your sense of morality (even early on) sounded pretty good. It's hard to do the right thing if there's no reward at the end.

I salute you if you've performed good deeds because it's right, not because you wanted to get into heaven.

  • @Hibitrit I am baffled as to how you can possibly argue that the Bible contains the basis for our morality - the 10 comm., loving God and others - when in the previous sentence you said that it's vague and outdated.

    My questions are:

-If the Bible is a moral guide and we cannot know right and wrong without it how can one argue that some of its teachings are outdated?

-If the Bible is vague and outdated in some places how can one argue that it's the source for morality?

  • I think the picture is best visible around 0:15, where there is that person praying, and I was just wondering, what does the Hebrew there translate to, and was there a purpose in putting that picture there?

  • This rocks. There is a gap in humanity that needs to be filled as myths pass away.....Thanks for sharing your story, You are doing the work of ushering in a New Era Of Love....(:-)

  • Part 5 not working for me. Thumbs up if its the same for you. And thumbs down when its working again!

  • Lol this is like conversion to atheism for dummies xd

  • @IKillBabyKittensLOL We don't need faith.

  • @Hibitrit But that isn't good enough for it - we need faith. It doesn't matter how good youvare.

  • And Christ says "You brood of Vipers" directing at who? the religious people.

I believe there are justified reasons for abortion, execution, war. We live in a sinful world and at times we have to choose the lesser of the evils to attain the closest thing to good that we know. We will never be morally well and God knows that! So Christ pushed one simple concept overriding everything, Love one another as he loved us. As long as we are trying to attain that, we are Heaven bound.
