Finally found one of the Ironside Ice commercials. For some strange reason I recalled it having the Smiths song as well, but perhaps that is a different one.

@Gord488 Haha I get Labatt Max Ice a couple of nights out of the week, they sell it at the "mini mart" in town in 24 ounce cans , I wasn't even aware it was called "maximum ice" once upon a time until I seen some of these old school commercials that I actually kind of remember.

In any case it's actually not that bad of a beer for what it is, really hits the spot after a hard days work.

This ad is so ridiculous in hindsight, but for an eleven-year-old at the time, it seemed perfectly natural to advertise beer with lightning, ice, mystical ruins and natural selection. It's like a Bathory video where the mead has been replaced with malt liquor.

Funny story - five years after this spot aired, two of these bastards gave a 17-year-old me my first taste of alcohol poisoning. It tasted like puke and blood.
