A person can fangirl/boy a Japanese character without being a weeaboo. A weeaboo is an annoying Japanophile who uses words from the language incorrectly, thinks it's the greatest country on Earth just because of the media, claim they're Japanese even when they're far from it, etc. I'm far from that. I do have a fondness for Japanese things, but I don't butcher the language and I actually have an interest Japanese culture in addition to the media.
