The third and fourth movements of the Messe Basse, Op. 8 (1914) by René Vierne (1878-1918). Performed by Michael Hendron on his 1887 Mustel harmonium. The Élévation employs the 16' (2) stops and the 16' treble (6) Voix Céleste, with the music played an octave higher than written. Recorded 18 August 2009.

  • Two extra-rare gems from the master, beautifully played. No trace of "blues" harmonies in these two. It's good to hear them, but it's also good not to sometimes. ;-]
